DISCIPLESHIP TRAINING SCHOOL
AUSTRALIA
Lecture Phase
In October 2018 I left to participate in a 6 month discipleship training school in Brisbane Australia through Youth With A Mission (YWAM). The first 4 months were spent in lectures and creative focused events all centered around God (watch the video below for a good example for a good example of a normal day). The last two months of this school was spent on outreach, which occurred in Malaysia. For more information on that time, click here: Malaysia! It deserves a whole page to itself. This school was comprised of 50 people, of all ages from all over the world, there for one purpose: to strengthen our relationship with God.

Lecture Phase taught me a lot about what it looks like to simply live in relationship with God. It allowed me space to grow and learn about myself, how I interact with others, and how to use my passions fearlessly. It was definitely scary moving across the world all alone, however, through this challenge I was forced to come out of my shell, engage with people, and make connections with others (even if we have completely different lives).

Looking back on it all I would say Australia and lecture phase were primarily a time for me to understand myself and reflect on these questions:

Why do I do what I do?
What do I truly value?
How do I view myself, and is that the way God views me?

All of these things helped strengthen my confidence in who I am, and who God created me to be. But I still felt lacking in one thing, confidence in God's word. I knew who God was and how much He loved me, but I felt like it was all second hand knowledge passed down to me from teachers and preachers. I wanted to learn it for myself, and that is when I decided to participate in the Bible Core Course after my completion of the 6 months in Australia. Read more about that experience here: Bible Core Course .
